A Year of Presence (a year of presents)

I’ve been diligently working on this for over a year. I have all of my days done up to August 31. I’m about halfway done embroidering September. I am very tired of embroidering these squares, although I suspect I will miss it when I’m done. Plenty of other things to embroider, though!

I’m still writing down all the “presences”/presents I see, but will definitely not be embroidering them. Writing them down has become a ritual, though, a witnessing and act of appreciation and gratitude, that I do not want to end.

Still to do:

• Embroider rest of September through December.
• Cut/process/wash/hang
• Finish data entry and decide on final order within each day
• Figure out backing
• Embroider month names etc
• Prep for sewing
• Sew

Good thing I enjoy labor!

Well, I wouldn’t have conceived of this project if I didn’t, would I?

I thought I could finish this by the spring but tomorrow is February 1st and now I’m not so sure.
