I baked biscuits today as a gift for the spirits of the land. I am bringing them to my most frequented & special places near my home, as a thank you. Three more to go-- Wolfe's Neck, Sebago Lake, and Range Pond. Hopefully this weekend.

The weather was odd today with multiple downpours interspersed with brief sunshine. In between downpours i went out and was surprised by my favorite “plant”, British Soldier Lichen. I saw this one little patch and then I started to seeing even more all around. I also love the little “cups” they have.
Check out the pattern chewed into this leaf. Found at Camp Pondicherry in Bridgton, Maine during Celebrate Camp. And check out this duo:
A gorgeous situation here. I don't know my lichen very well (I probably should, considering where I live). Perhaps Pink Earth?
Thanks to Amber of Moosehead Area Guide Service I got to see moose in the wild for the first time in Maine! I can't say the "first time ever" since we did see one in Newfoundland in 2017 at the very end of a boat trip, one appeared from the woods and waded out into the water. We ended up seeing three moose with Amber, here is one of them: An unexpected find right on the bank to the water at Bug Light Park in South Portland, ME.
